Who is the Antichrist ?

For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.

(2John 1:7 KJV)

A shocking book written by the Pope, Joseph Ratzinger, contained in The Pontifical Biblical Commission, entitled CLICK HERE to View: The Jewish People and their Sacred Scripture in the Christian Bible has been identified as a tool which is used to deny that Christ came in the flesh. The Pontifical Biblical Commission has been noted for its denial of Jesus Christ as the Son of God, a clear example of antichristianity. Such an anti-christian doctrine denies the prophesied Messiah.

The above teachings, reportedly endorsed by Pope Benedict XVI, is a clear example of Anti-Christian teachings, as the son of perdition, the man of sin, has vividly engendered a falling away from Biblical truth. “Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition” (2Thess. 2:3). Prophecy meeting its fruition, clearly possesses a threat to Truthseekers who are not well grounded in current events. Thus it is important for all to take heed to God’s fourth angel’s Loud cry, forewarning saints to evacuate spiritual Babylon (Rev 18:1-4). Benedict XVI has also been seen taking part in Jewish worship service, epitomizing, rapid growing ecumenism. A dogmatic sect of Judaism appears to have unified with Papal traditions.

A real question has emerged with our studies regarding the denomination of the 144,000. Yet, as the shaking process continues in the church, many will be searching for terminology to define the last day denomination. A denomination is defined as a group of believers. The term 144,000 is mentioned throughout the scriptures, identifying those who will be able to withstand tribulation without an Intercessor, following the close of probation for the world (Daniel 12:1,2; Rev 6:17). Christ, through John the Revelator spoke to the Seven Churches, illustrating the movement of God’s church since the time of Christ to present, from Ephesus to Laodicea (Rev 1:11). Identifying where we are in history is essential, as we will need to uphold the characteristics of the Last day Church, Philadelphia,
( Rev 3:7,8 ).

Without compromising, as we learned in the history of the Black Horse (Rev 6:5), compromise weakens the Church of Christ/Body of Christ. Balances in scripture symbolizes compromise. Thus we must focus on strengthening the true church of Christ, those that keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus Christ (Rev 14:12). These last days of persecution, regarding the Enforced National Sunday Law, the Mark of the Beast, will purify the church, as those who are sincere believers will stand for truth and remain focused on Christ, without falling away. The emergence of the Laodicean condition in the Adventist Church in 1859 has been problematic for the final work (Testimonies Vol. 1 Index Part Five), thus all those who are sincere believers must heed the council of the faithful and True Witness, overcoming this Laodicean condition. True sincere believers will be taught by the Holy Spirit and all will share beliefs that are solely grounded by the Scriptures.

The church of Philadelphia is true Adventism. As we prepare for the Latter Rain (James 5:7), embracing the return of Christ, true sincere believers must focus on becoming harvest ripe, perfecting Christ-like characters ( Matt 5:48 ). Harvest ripe by biblical definition entails a process of establishing …”first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear”(Mark 4:26-29). Christ’s good seed’s ( Matt 13:38 ) preparation and perseverance will hasten His return “But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps” (Matt 25:4). Oil in the scriptures symbolizes the Holy Spirit. Babylon has fallen, however God’s Kingdom and true remnant will live on eternally:

Mat 25:31 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:
Mat 25:32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:

Brethren, we must remain faithful until the end, as our Redeemer, Christ, has reassured his chosen “… that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world” (John 16:33).

  1. Concerning this sub-heading near the top of this particular blog, it reads thus, “POPE RELEASES A BOOK DENYING CHRIST’S EARTHLY PRIESTHOOD”

Is this statement supposed to be refuted with Scripture? It is in harmony with Scripture.

Hebrews 8: 4. For if He (the Lord Jesus Christ) were on earth, he should not be a priest, seeing that there are priests that offer gifts according to the law:

Prophet, Priest, and King. That is the order that the Lord in His humanity has followed.

    In the earth He was the Prophet that Moses said would come after him. Deuteronomy 18:15. The Lord thy God will raise up unto thee a PROPHET from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken;

In heaven He is now our High Priest. Hebrews 8:1-2 Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an HIGH PRIEST, Who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens; A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man.

And He will come again as our King from heaven. Revelation 19:16. And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

I read the article and it seemed to be more about the humanity of Jesus our Lord, not about HIm being any type of priest.

    1. Timothy,

Thank-you for your insight into scripture and time. You are absolutely correct Christ’s time on earth was directed towards His Ministry as a Prophet (Deuteronomy 18:15,18). At your suggestion, I changed the caption to reflect this notion and concept: His inauguration into the Heavenly Priesthood occurred following His coronation in Heaven, you are absolutely correct (50 days after His resurrection in 31 A.D. Review and Herald April 30, 1908).

The Holy Spirit’s Outpouring, began in 31AD following the resurrection of Christ. Additionally we understand that the Day of Pentecost, the Former Rain, occurred fifty days following the Messiah’s resurrection (precisely seven Sabbaths after His resurrection). The Day of Pentecost thus was an earthly symbol of Christ’s coronation in Heaven; His inauguration into the Heavenly Priesthood (Psalms 110:4; Daniel 8:14, Acts 2:1-5; Hebrews 6:20, 8:3-4, Revelations 1:11-13,20;14:7, Great Controversy pg 352-353). Christ’s coronation in Heaven, manifested as the Outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost, was an anti-type of Aaron’s typical earthly coronation into the Priesthood (Psalms 133:2).

Needless to say, the Roman Catholic Church’s Papacy appears to have met the criteria for the anti-christ, as they have endorsed Judaism’s denial of Christ’s timely prophesied existence, earthly Ministry and Heavenly Priesthood.

  2. You are quite welcome Sister Sabbay. Just want to make sure that folks get the right understanding as is common in the rest of your website. Thank you for your labours in the vineyard and God bless your human efforts with His divine power. Brother Blue

  3. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Priest
From the link: “A priest or priestess is a person having the authority or power to administer religious rites; in particular, rites of sacrifice to, and propitiation of, a deity or deities. Their office or position is the priesthood, a term which may also apply to such persons collectively.”

The context of early historical writings, when they were written, are different than the current context in which we view them. More, those writings are but a snapshot of the past, not the past itself which consisted of a lot of other snapshots that didn’t make it into the historical documents.

What was the official church of God at the time of Jesus on earth? Wasn’t His church anywhere a congregation would gather and hear His divine word and see His divine actions? What was Jesus role at The Last Supper. Was he not serving as an officer of the faith? Isn’t that what a priest essentially is…an officer of the faith?

    1. Hi Dean Metcalfe,

Thanks for your time and comment. Biblical proof edifies all that Christ did not begin His Priesthood until after He was coronated and inaugurated into the Heavenly Priesthood. Timothy (Brother Blue) is correct in stating that Christ’s Work on earth was a Ministry not to be considered a Priesthood. His Priesthood Work began in 31 AD symbolized as the Day of Pentecost, please refer to my response to Timothy (Brother Blue) for scriptural references. This is an excellent question, thanks for asking.

The second part of your question regarding the Last Supper functioned as a desire that Christ had to share the last meal with His Disciples reassuring each of His presence in the form of the Holy Spirit, edifying them of the value of having Communion.

  4. Sabbay and Timothy,

I agree with you both, as Christ’s Ministry on this earth was powerful and our Messiah was the greatest Servant in History. Timothy , I completely agree with you that Christ’s work on this earth embodied a Ministry, later becoming a Priesthood in AD 31 at Christ’s coronation in Heaven, symbolized by the Day of Pentecost (Psalms 110:4, 133:2; Acts 2:1-5).

  5. Sabbay,

This was such an AWESOME study, I now understand that during His life on earth, Yeshua (Christ) was a Prophet and Messiah, however, when he ascended to Heaven since October 22nd of 1844, He is now serving as our Great High Priest in the Heaven Sanctuary’s 2nd Apartment. Thanks so much for the information on the 2300 day Prophecy it is a PHENOMENAL REVELATION and it testifies to the TRUE WITNESS, CHRIST JESUS (Hebrews 8:1-5, Revelation 19:10).
